Here is a quick explanation of style types to help you choose what to book. Please note this visual is an example and may not represent how your lashes will look as each look depends on how many natural lashes you have, how long they are, and if you want to tweak a style by having us create a strip lash look with it.
For example, someone who has a lot of natural lashes will create a fuller looking classic look than the picture showed. I always tell clients we can change things up with different types of fills if you want to try out different styles until you find something that is your "soulmate" go-to look!
Classic is more natural and great for beginners. Blended is a light/medium volume level and for those who want a little more volume with a natural look. Volume is an elegant yet natural looking volume look (excellent for those who want thicker lash looks or for those with sparse lashes). Mega Volume is for those who want a darker, bolder, and dramatic lash look. Russian Volume is a really full volume look that's created using a specific technique for hand making the fans with 100% natural lash coverage.
Concerned about allergies to the glue? You always have the option to do a patch test before your appointment. A patch test is done at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment to make sure you don't have a reaction to the adhesives used for your extensions. This is particularly important for people with sensitive eyes, or for those who have known sensitivity to other forms of adhesives. A patch test is done by placing a few small extensions on the outer corner of your lash line on both eyes and you will be asked to monitor it in case you have a reaction. Patch tests take 5-10 minutes.
When you arrive for your appointment be sure that your lashes and skin around eyes are clean and free of makeup or oily residues.Avoid drinking caffeine prior to your appointment as this will cause your eyelids to flutter during the lash appointment. Please avoid alcohol and avoid drinking a lot of water beforehand so you can relax without frequent restroom breaks or overall discomfort.
If you are experiencing a rapid shedding (5 or more extensions) on both eyes of eyelash extensions within the first 3-4 days after your appointment, I need to be notified within the first 3-4 days if this is happening for assessment and a fix as this may be a glue issue. Contacting me after this time frame does not allow for proper assessment and no longer qualifies for a free fix. Also, an assessment can indicate if this is not a glue issue and an aftercare/maintenance issue, especially if other customers are not reporting rapid shed loss at the same time. Please be sure to follow instructions to carefully and properly take care of your eyelash extensions. See Aftercare in Service Menu for more info!Seasonal Lash Sheds:We go through larger shed cycles throughout the year, but predominattely during seasonal changes like spring and fall. Our hair tends to shed more on our heads and this also applies to our eyelashes. Please plan accordingly and prepare for these shed phases. You may need more frequent appointments or may opt to have eyelash extension breaks during these times.Old Extension Sheds:Sometimes, old extensions from prior fills that have had really great retention all start to shed at the same time unexpectedly. If you wait 3-ish or more weeks for your fills, then you may experience a large shedding due to old extensions finally being ready to come off. You may want to come in sooner for fills if this happens to you more often than not.So often, fast shedding comes from poor maintenance/aftercare habits/lifestyle activity or even oily skin/lids. Cleaning them daily with an oil-free and appropriate cleanser, brushing through them, and not touching them will prolong your wear and keep your natural lashes healthy too!
1. Be careful to allow moisturizers, oily eye creams, or any oily makeup removers to come too close to your lash extensions.
2. Use only water-soluble products, oil-free products around your eyes. Rubbing, pulling, picking or over-cleansing the lashes will cause premature loss of lash extensions.
3. Make sure to comb through your lashes when they are dry every day to keep them straight and to help them grow out nicely.
4. Make sure to gently cleanse them with an oil-free cleanser after the first 24 hours to keep bacteria away. Do this daily to avoid bacteria growth and blepharitis.
5. No mascara. I used to give tips about mascara and eyelash extensions but over time I just see nothing but trouble for eyelash extensions. The mascara ruins them every time and also stays on as a residue which makes retention after fills a disaster. Just don't do it.
6. Do not curl eyelash extensions.
7. After the first 24 hours, occasional short visits to the steam room/sauna is fine. However, extensive exposure to steam or intense heat may cause bonding agent to loosen. If this happens, more frequent maintenance visits will be needed.
8. Try to sleep on your back. This is important directly following your application since the glue takes a while to completely dry. After a night or two, resume your normal sleeping position.
9. Be gentle with your lashes. When removing your eye makeup, gently cleanse with fingertips or lip applicators.
10. Eyelash growth serums can help your eyelashes stay strong helping the extensions to last longer, therefore, decreasing maintenance visits. (visit the store to purchase my #1 recommended one!)
11. Resist playing with them. Your eyelashes shed naturally (approximately 1-4 every day). Rubbing and twisting the extensions can cause them to fall off. If an extension looks out of place, avoid playing with it or twisting or pulling it off. Let them come out on their own.
To have a full set at all times, it's important to not let your lashes shed more than 50% for your next fill. Most people make an apt about 2-3 weeks out.30% or less of eyelash extensions remaining will require a new set. At every fill I take old eyelash extensions off. If you come in with 30% remaining, most likely it's less than that as most will have to be taken off since grown out or otherwise.
Eyelash Extensions are fibers that mimic the look of real eyelashes. They are hand-made and created with varying lengths and curl types. They come on a strip where they are lightly glued. They can be lifted up from the strip with a tweezer and then they are dipped in a glue typically made of cyanoacrylate which is a form of "super glue" that is used in the medical industry for suture-free wounds. Once dipped, they are glued to each individual natural eyelash. Thinner cut eyelash extensions can be combined together and made into a "fan" to create more volumized looks. This is especially great for people with thinner lashes or who want extra bold results. Our eyelashes are the first sustainable eyelash extensions available in the market today. Not only that, they are made from recycled HDPE fibers and are completely eco-friendly. These lashes feel so light-weight and comfortable, most clients of ours do not feel they are wearing eyelash extensions!Eyelash extensions can be versatile in the way they look. They can be made to look very natural and also natural/voluminous.
We use a medical grade/formaldehyde-free glue. It is one of the strongest bond glues out there. It contains Cyranoacrylate, which is used in the medical field for suture-free wounds. Upon request, we can also order special glues for sensitive eyes. *We now carry cyanocrylate-free glue for those previously allergic to cyanoacrylate!
We are proud to use our very own Avari Beauty brand of eyelash extensions! They are sustainable, comfortable, cruelty-free, beautiful - and our customers have fallen in love with them! They are amazing quality and last a very long time.

This varies from person to person as hair cycle growth, lifestyle, and aftercare will affect eyelash extension retention. Your eyelash extensions should typically last 2-3 weeks before a fill is needed. If you decide to let them fall off completely, generally 4-6 weeks. We highly suggest doing an eyelash extension removal to avoid the tendency to want to pull them off when they get past 4 weeks and are overgrown. Pulling them off causes damage to your natural lash.
Quite the opposite! It is very relaxing and everyone falls asleep. Some people may notice the feeling of their bottom eyelashes being gently taped down. Some people may experience a little sensitivity to the fumes from the cleaning solution or glue. The sensitivity usually settles down after a few minutes. People also may experience their eyes watering. The application can tickle as each eyelash is isolated with a tweezer until you get used to the sensation. After your lashes have been applied, they should feel like your own natural lashes – meaning, you shouldn’t feel them very much at all. Sometimes there is a slight discomfort when we have to detach old extensions from grown out eyelashes.
They should not cause much damage, if at all. Some people have sensitive eyelashes that don't like to have extensions for longer periods of time. Some can go years with no issues. The job of a qualified lash technician is to watch for signs of weakened natural eyelashes. My brand of eyelashes are cut very thin and are designed with the natural eyelash health in mind. We've actually helped some people regain healthy eyelashes by using our eyelash extension brand and making sure to use the appropriate length and width of extensions for your natural eyelash. We also make sure to encourage eyelash extension breaks when we feel that is what the natural eyelashes need. Please do your research when choosing an eyelash extension technician. You should never see clumps or black masses of glue in pictures of someone's work. Eyelash extensions should never be super thick to where it is over half of the width of a natural eyelash. If you watch out for those things, you should be safe!
Yes, you can! You don't need to take them out unless you decide you want to. I also want to note that you should have no issues with eyelash extensions and contacts or glasses. Depending on how long your extensions are, they may brush up against your glass frames, but other than that - you should have no issue.
I would honestly avoid eyelash extensions if you experience watery eyes and allergies often or throughout the year. This will not be great for eyelash extension retention and you would need more frequent fills than normal. Also, you may be more sensitive to eyelash extension glue fumes. If you have seasonal allergies, you may be fine. You could avoid having them when you know your allergies will be active.
You can treat your eyelash extensions much as you treat your own lashes. Extra care must be taken for the first 24 hours after application – do not get them wet or submerge them in water until after the glue has fully cured post 24 hours. Extended exposure to hot water or chlorine and sea salt may weaken the bond and cause you to lose lashes sooner than you would otherwise. But you can shower and wash your face as usual.
This depends on each State's requirements. In some States, you will need to be a licensed Cosmetologist, Esthetician, or Lash Technician with an active license to perform these services. It is also preferred to have certification and specific training in this field. In other States, you just need to be certified and trained.
